Announcement by the co-editors in chief of M@n@gement:

M@n@gement 24(1) – New issue

Dear colleagues,

In this tough period, we are grateful for the opportunity to share with you this first issue of the year 2021, in the entirely free and open access journal M@n@gement.

As always, this issue 24(1) illustrates the diversity and plurality of the AIMS community, its openness and inclusiveness, both methodological and theoretical, through five original research articles. You will read a contribution by Antonio Giangreco, Barbara Slavich, Alessandro Piazza, Fabrizio Castellucci, Cyrus Mohadjer on the role of celebrity and status in the performance-pay relationship in the case of the major football leagues in Europe. In their paper, Christian Stutz, Antti Ainamao and Juha-Antti Lamberg propose to integrate two separate research fields, corporate decline and turnarounds as well as the strategic use of history, in order to proposing ways in which strategists can work with, and through time in managing and turning around declines. Pierre-Xavier Meschi, Antonin Ricard and Ernesto Tapia Moore’s paper investigates whether pre-internationalization conditions improve the performance of first-time exporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In their article, Jean Nizet, Pauline Fatien Diochon, Lakshmi Balachandran Nair explore how individuals make ethical decisions in the face of conflicting commitments, in investigating the particular context of executive coaching. Finally, Isabelle Martinez, Claire Gillet-Monjarret and Géraldine Rivière-Giordano look at how companies perceive the external third party that checks the information on corporate social responsibility that they publish.

To complete this issue, Hélà Yousfi proposes an unplugged discussion on the issues raised by postcolonial and decolonial approaches in the context of international management.

We would like to thank all those who contributed to this issue: authors, reviewers, readers, former co-editors in chief, senior editors, our publishing editor Open Academia, CNRS INSHS, and AIMS.

Have a good read, New Year!
