Dear RC17 members and Newsletter subscribers,
With our December Newsletter 2018 we want to send our best wishes for the upcoming New Year’s Eve, and a healthy and a successful year 2019!
We can look back at a great year. First and foremost, we had an intense XIX ISA World Congress of Sociology in Toronto with 13 sessions debating currentresearch in organizational sociology and offering exciting insights. We, moreover, relaunched our website www.organizational-sociology.com and created a Twitter account: https://twitter.com/SocOrganization. Last but not least we composed a new board of 15 scholars from 8 countries.
In 2019, RC17 will continue to be an active community of organizational sociologists around the world. For that reason, RC17 has decided to expand its activities beyond the ISA World Congresses and Forums. In May 2019, RC17 will officially partner in organizing the workshop “Meta-, Macro-, and Partial Organization: Advances in Research and Theory” that will take place on May 13&14 in Toulouse, France. More things are to come and do not hesitate to make suggestions for future activities.

RC17 board
In October RC17 announced the composition of our new board for 2018-2022. We want to thank the outgoing board members Tristan May and Uli Meyer for their service in the past years and welcome Inna Bell, Héloïse Berkowitz, Paul Du Gay, Adam Hayes, Robert Jungmann, Leopold Ringel, Karem Sánchez de Roldán, and Alan Scott as new board members. Cristina Besio, Stewart Clegg, Daniel Muzio, Michael Grothe-Hammer (new secretary), Dean Pierides (proceeds as Treasurer) continue serving on the board. Robert van Krieken will continue as president and Kathia Serrano-Velarde has been appointed Vice-President.

- Reports from activities on organizational sociology in national associations
